About Me

Hi, I am a Debra Maki.

I am a portrait photographer from Southwest Florida. I specialize in natural light, on-location photography including families, maternity, newborn, engagement, seniors, lifestyle, business headshots, wedding, and much, much more. I love being behind the camera capturing memories that last a lifetime.

My love for photography goes back to high school when I took a basic photography class my senior year. After 20 years of being a hobby photographer, I decided to take my passion to the next level and attended The New York Institute of Photography. In 2011, Debra Maki Photography came to life.

When I'm not working with clients, I am a wife of 30 years, a mom of four amazing adult children (Scott, Dylan, Jonathan and Oakley), a grandma of three (Ava, Harper and Liam) with two more grandsons due in the fall of 2021 (October and December). I also run a home-based medical transcription business that allows me the flexibility for my photography. I have a trio of Dobermans (Athena, Apollo and Artemis) who are certified search and rescue K9s. Outside of family and photography, I am an open water diver. I love being 80 feet down swimming with sharks and sea turtles.
